Kataeb Party: Abdollahian's Remarks Violate Lebanon's Sovereignty and Independence

The Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau held its weekly meeting chaired by Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel. After the meeting, the following statement was issued:

The Kataeb Political Bureau holds the remnants of the authority responsible for completely shirking their responsibility in negotiating on behalf of Lebanon and its people, excluding all others and relegating it to the project of unity of arenas and spokespersons, who gradually converge by threatening, maneuvering, and conceding on podiums.

It indicates that the recent visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian violated all accepted norms, and his rounds of discussions on war and peace, along with his blatant statement in which he linked Lebanon's security to that of Iran, constitute a grave violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and independence.

This is a blatant challenge to the will of the Lebanese people, who reject being drawn into any axis or involvement in wars that do not concern them.

On the nineteenth anniversary of the assassination of martyr Rafic Hariri, the Kataeb Party believes that justice remains elusive and the truth is still hidden.

The killer remains at large, and those who follow in their footsteps do not hesitate to unleash the machinery of assassination or defamation against every free voice that rejects laying hands on Lebanon and seizing its decision-making.

The most dangerous aspect of all this is that the group, which is internationally condemned, currently holds the reins of settlements with an excess of power, speaking in the name of the Lebanese with the authority of arms, negotiating over the borders of a country whose sovereignty it has violated in service to an external agenda.

The Kataeb Political Bureau asserts that no matter how long it takes, justice must prevail, affirming that freedom and Lebanon are inseparable pillars.
