US President Donald Trump has bluntly signaled, several times, that he would encourage a military intervention in Lebanon by the forces of Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. His logic seems to be that in the same way Al-Sharaa’s forces succeeded in toppling Bashar Assad and his regime in Syria, who had support from Hezbollah fighters, they could also defeat Hezbollah in Lebanon. The Kataeb Media Department issued the following statement:
This is not the first time, and likely will not be the last, that journalists become the targets of Israeli gunfire, paying the price of the truth they convey with their blood and wounds.
The truth speaks louder than the sound of any shells or artillery used in a war that spares no innocents.
The Kataeb Media Department condemns these unacceptable practices, expressing solidarity with the journalists who are risking their lives while covering the events in southern Lebanon.
They deserve all appreciation and respect for the noble mission they are carrying out.
