Kataeb Delegation Visits Papal Ambassador

A delegation from the Lebanese Kataeb Party, representing Party President MP Samy Gemayel visited Apostolic Nuncio, and Monsignor Paolo Borgia to discuss pressing national issues and the Kataeb’s vision for solutions amid Lebanon’s grave challenges.

The delegation included Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel, the party’s Vice President Dr. Bernard Gerbaka, and Political Bureau Member Dr. Alain Hakim.

The delegation conveyed to Borgia the party’s appreciation for the efforts of His Holiness Pope Francis and Cardinal Pietro Parolin to safeguard Lebanon from the devastating war waged against it, to preserve its role as a “nation of message,” and to protect the Christian presence within it.

It emphasized the urgent need for full implementation of international resolutions, notably 1701 and 1559, and the importance of respecting the constitution, underscoring that weapons should be exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese Army and legitimate forces solely responsible for defending Lebanon, its territory, and its people.

The delegation informed the Papal Ambassador of the Kataeb party’s collaborative efforts with municipalities and local organizations to secure proper housing for displaced individuals who have been forced to leave their homes and seek safety in more secure areas.

It also expressed concern for the residents of border regions who have chosen to stay in their villages to preserve their land and identity, underscoring their critical need for support to sustain their resilience and steadfastness.
