Kataeb Calls for Participation in August 4th March, Says Ain el-Helweh Clashes Natural Consequence of Militias Presence

The Kataeb Party’s Political Bureau held its weekly meeting chaired by Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel. After the meeting, the following statement was issued:

1-The Kataeb Political Bureau believed that after three years of  Beirut blast the truth remains obscured and the judiciary stagnant, while the accused and those responsible for the death of hundreds, the injury of thousands, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands remain free protected by a system that hides behind its fortifications.

The Kataeb Party highlighted the need for an international investigation that would achieve justice to the victims, away from local pressures that hinder access to the truth and prevent accountability.

It also deemed Beirut blast case an everlasting right, saying that it will spare no effort in the pursuit of justice and the punishment of those involved, in honor and in memory of Kataeb comrades who died on that fateful day: Secretary-General Nizar Najarian, Joe Akiki, Joe Andoun, Tony Barmaki, and Randa Rizkallah.

The Kataeb Political Bureau also called on comrades and supporters to participate in the march from the Beirut Fire Brigade towards the port on Friday, August 4th at 4:30 pm.

2- The Kataeb Party pointed out that the latest clashes that erupted inside the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Helweh are a "natural consequence" of the presence of "armed Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias on the Lebanese soil.”

It believed that Hezbollah, after paralyzing the state and preventing it from exerting its authority and gradually emptying decision-making centers, has become the dominant force in the Lebanese arena and is exploiting the reality it has established to turn the camps into a battlefield for militias based on the agendas of the Iranian resistance in the region.

It also said that what is needed today is not just to contain the clashes, but to address this file fundamentally, affirming that this requires a political decision from the Lebanese State to prevent the presence of weapons in Palestinian camps, knowing that the positions of the Palestinian Authority are clear about the need to exert the sovereignty of the Lebanese state over the Palestinian camps to ensure security and peace.

3- The Kataeb Party voiced its rejection over the blatant disregard that dominates the management of the country's affairs, noting that the country is heading towards collapse.

It also said that some irresponsible officials have decided to take a vacation from responsibility until September, deeming this step a tantamount to submission to the will of obstruction, imposition, and monopolization of the country.

The Kataeb Political Bureau deemed that the presidential vacuum these dangerous circumstances a tantamount to the slaughter of the state and the law, holding Hezbollah and its allies responsible for institutions’ destruction, all the malfunctions, incomplete, illegal and improvised solutions at the security, economy, and finance levels resulting from preventing the election of a president to monopolize decisions and control the country.

4- The Kataeb Party indicated that Lebanon’s Central Bank left in a shameful celebratory scene carrying the largest file of looting Lebanese money in history, after contributing with his mafia partners to the collapse of the national currency and the evaporation of people's deposits outside the law, considering that the new policy will be based on stealing them legally.

It also voiced its rejection over any step that aims to lend a bankrupt state and legalize the theft of depositors' money, which is a plan that the system is begging for to escape any future accountability.

It confirmed that temporary solutions would contribute to prolonging the crisis, explaining that the only solution lies in comprehensive solutions with clear and existing plans that need a decisive decision to implement them.

5- On the occasion of the 78th Army Day, the Kataeb Party highlighted Lebanese Armed Forces’ pivotal role.

It praised the army that is still standing despite the difficult circumstances that the country is experiencing, noting that it has not abandoned its duties in protecting Lebanon and the Lebanese and preserving the unity of the country in a time when its institutions are scattered.
