Jordan’s PM Bisher Khasawneh Resigns Less than a Week After Election

Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh submitted his resignation on Sunday less than a week after parliamentary elections, according to officials familiar with the matter.

US-educated Jaafar Hassan, currently head of King Abdullah’s office and former planning minister, is expected to replace Khasawneh, a veteran diplomat and former palace advisor who was appointed nearly four years ago, the officials, who declined to be named, told Reuters.
