Israeli Army Drops Leaflets Over Beirut Urging Disarmament of Hezbollah

The Israeli army dropped leaflets over the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday, calling on residents to support the disarmament of Hezbollah and portraying the move as essential for the country’s stability and future.

In one leaflet, the message urged Lebanese citizens to carefully read the contents “for the sake of everyone’s safety,” before calling for the dismantling of the Iran-backed group’s military capabilities.

“You must disarm Hezbollah, Iran’s arm,” the leaflet read. “Lebanon is your decision, not someone else’s.”

The message argued that stability was a right for all Lebanese and urged residents to reject the continuation of past conflicts.

“Stability is not just a word; it is a right for all Lebanese. Your refusal matters. Do not allow what happened in the past to continue because of the Iranian Hezbollah weapons,” it said.

The leaflet also referred to Unit 504, an Israeli military intelligence unit, saying it was working “to ensure a secure future for Lebanon and its people.”

“Unit 504 works to ensure a secure future for Lebanon and its people. We believe this starts with you. Your courage today matters,” the text read.

It added: “If you want to be part of real change and contribute to the prosperity and protection of your country, we are listening.”

The leaflet included QR codes directing readers to WhatsApp and Facebook contact channels and concluded with the message: “Your safety and security are our priority,” signed “Unit 504 – Intelligence Unit.”

A second leaflet, titled “The New Reality,” carried a separate message: “In light of the tremendous success in Gaza, the newspaper The New Reality has now arrived in Lebanon.”
