Israeli Airstrikes Hit Targets in Jnah and Bir Hassan

Israeli airstrikes have resumed on Tuesday, specifically targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, including the neighborhoods of Jnah and Bir Hassan. The Israeli military confirmed that these strikes were part of a targeted operation aimed at strategic locations within the city.

One of the strikes was reportedly carried out on a building located near Al-Zahraa Hospital in Jnah. Another strike was reported at the Gondoline roundabout, which is situated near the Kuwaiti embassy in Bir Hassan, also targeting a specific building in that area.

Initial reports indicated that the strike on the apartment in Jnah targeted a stock market office.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth clarified that Hezbollah officials Sheikh Salah, who is responsible for transferring military personnel from Syria to Lebanon, and Zulfiqar, a commander in the "Imam Hussein Brigade," were the targets of the Israeli airstrikes.

Later, the Israeli army announced the elimination of Muhammad Jaafar Kassir, the commander of Hezbollah's Unit 4400, which is responsible for transporting weapons from Iran and its allied groups to Lebanon.

According to the Israeli military, Kassir was a significant figure within Hezbollah,  who was involved in numerous "strategic" operations for smuggling weapons from Iran to Hezbollah, and played a key role in advancing the group's precision missile development.

In response to the escalating airstrikes, authorities have implemented security measures, closing the main road leading to the airport and the Assad Highway. Traffic has been redirected to the secondary Ouzai road as a precautionary measure.
