The Israeli military said Thursday it carried out a wave of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure across multiple areas in southern Lebanon, as cross-border hostilities continued in parallel with diplomatic efforts and ongoing negotiations between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces issued evacuation warnings for eight villages in southern Lebanon ahead of strikes it said were aimed at the armed group Hezbollah.
Residents of Libbaya, Sohmor, Tefahta, Kfar Melki, Yohmor al-Beqaa, Ain al-Tineh, Houmine al-Faouqa and Mazraat Sinay were instructed to leave their homes immediately and move at least one kilometer away from the area.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said the military would operate “forcefully” against Hezbollah, accusing the group of violating a ceasefire agreement, while stressing that civilians were not the intended target. He warned that being near Hezbollah members, facilities or military equipment posed a serious risk to civilian lives.
Following the warnings, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported significant displacement from several western Bekaa villages, including Yohmor, Libbaya and Ain al-Tineh.
On the ground, the town of Khiam witnessed a powerful overnight explosion carried out by Israeli forces operating inside the area. The blast struck the northern neighborhood, destroying homes, shops and commercial establishments, in what local reports described as part of a broader campaign aimed at dismantling villages and erasing their geographic and historical character.
The Israeli military also released footage showing an explosion targeting the official vocational institute in Bint Jbeil.

Israeli airstrikes continued into the morning, hitting multiple locations including Mansouri in the Tyre district, Kfartebnit in the Nabatiyeh district, Siddiqin in the Tyre district, Kfarra, and a series of strikes on Tefahta in the Sidon district. Another strike was reported between Jabal al-Botm and Zibqin, with injuries reported in Siddiqin.
Israeli artillery also shelled the hills of Majdal Zoun at dawn.
Shortly after midnight, Israeli warplanes struck Mansouri in the Tyre district, coinciding with heavy artillery fire on Mansouri, Hanniyeh and Qlayleh.
The area around the Litani River, beneath the Shuqayf fortress, was also hit by artillery fire during the night.
Earlier, Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in Zibqin in the Tyre district injured nine people, including four women, who were transferred to hospitals in Tyre. A separate strike on Ayta al-Shaab also caused multiple injuries.
Rescue teams from the Lebanese Red Cross, operating from the Nabatiyeh center with army support, evacuated a Syrian family from their home in Meifadoun, along with several Bangladeshi workers from a house and a sweets factory in the same town. They had been trapped amid ongoing strikes and shelling and were reportedly running out of supplies.
The body of a Bangladeshi national killed days earlier in an Israeli strike on the farm of retired Brigadier General Hassan Ali Ahmad in Meifdoun was also recovered. The evacuees were transferred to safer areas, while the body was taken to a hospital morgue in Nabatieh.
Earlier in the night, the towns of Majdal Selm and Sawanah in the Marjayoun district were hit by two airstrikes, alongside artillery shelling on Brashit, Frun, Ghandouriya and Shaqra in the Bint Jbeil district.
