Israel Accuses Hezbollah of Storing Over $500 Million in Cash and Gold Beneath Beirut Hospital

In a significant revelation, the Israeli military has accused Hezbollah of hiding more than $500 million in cash and gold beneath Sahel Hospital in Haret Hreik, a densely populated area in the heart of Beirut.

According to Israeli army's spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, Hezbollah has stored hundreds of millions of dollars, along with a substantial amount of gold, in an underground bunker beneath Sahel Hospital. Adraee revealed that the entrances to this bunker are hidden within two buildings near the hospital, the Ahmadi Building and the Sahel Center Building.

"This vast amount of cash and gold was taken from Lebanese citizens, money that could have been used to help restore Lebanon’s economic stability," Adraee said.

Earlier, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the Israeli army spokesperson, disclosed further details in a press conference, stating that the bunker is one of several used by the slain Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

“The bunker was deliberately placed under a hospital, and it holds more than half a billion dollars in cash and gold," Hagari said. "That money could have been used to rehabilitate Lebanon, but instead, it went to rehabilitate Hezbollah."

The IDF emphasized that its air force is closely monitoring the site and will continue to track Hezbollah's financial operations. The revelation comes on the heels of overnight Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah's financial infrastructure.

“The [Israeli] Air Force aircraft are watching the site and will continue to track it,” he warned.

Hagari also outlined the broader scope of Hezbollah’s financial network, noting that the group receives substantial funds from Iran. He vowed that Israel would persist in its efforts to dismantle Hezbollah's financial operations, striking at the core of its funding sources.

In addition to accusing Hezbollah of hoarding wealth under a civilian hospital, Hagari called on the Lebanese government and international organizations to intervene.

“We urge the Lebanese government and international bodies to recover the stolen money from Hezbollah and return it to the Lebanese people,” he said.
