IRGC Intelligence Chief Among Four Killed in Tehran Strike, Israeli Army Confirms

Four senior Iranian intelligence officials were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tehran, including the head of the Intelligence Organization of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Israeli army announced on Monday.

According to the military, Israeli fighter jets targeted a building in the Iranian capital on Sunday night, where several high-ranking intelligence operatives were holding a meeting. Among those killed was Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi, the IRGC’s intelligence chief, along with his deputy, Hassan Mohaqiq.

Also confirmed dead were the head of intelligence for the IRGC’s elite Quds Force and his deputy, whose names were not immediately released.

Iranian state media acknowledged the deaths of Kazemi, Mohaqiq, and one additional intelligence official late Sunday, without providing further details on the nature of the incident.

“These senior officials played a central role in formulating Tehran’s strategic assessments and in orchestrating terror activities against Israel, Western nations, and regional actors,” the Israeli army said.

Kazemi had led the IRGC’s intelligence wing since 2022 and was seen as a critical figure in shaping the regime’s internal security strategy and foreign clandestine operations.
