The Ministry of Public Health regularly releases detailed reports outlining the collective health effects of conflicts in South Lebanon.
The most recent report reveals five new cases, underscoring the ongoing health challenges in the region, bringing the total injuries to 1125 and highlighting the widespread impact of the conflict on public health. Additionally, the report grimly notes an increase in the death toll to 316, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action.
The distribution of injuries shows that 88% are among females and 96% among males, with Lebanese nationals aged 24 to 44 accounting for 60% of the cases. These injuries stemmed from various causes, including trauma (44%), explosions (34%), and chemical exposure (18%).
This report plays a crucial role in evaluating the humanitarian consequences and directing resources to meet the urgent needs of affected communities. Despite mitigation efforts, the situation remains critical, with the report indicating a troubling surge in cases.
