The Lebanese government on Thursday made a landmark decision, committing to the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of the year. It approved the “goals” of US envoy Tom Barrack’s paper on “strengthening” the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel. The government stated that the army will present an action plan by the end of August.

Kataeb lawmaker Elias Hankach met with Chairman and General Manager of the State-owned Housing Bank Antoine Habib and Kuwaiti Chargé d’Affairs Abdallah Al-Chahine with talks featuring high on the Arab loan amounting to 50 million Kuwaiti dinars.
During the meeting, Habib voiced hope over swift follow up on the matter, “especially that the loan agreement was signed three years ago.”
For his part, Al-Chahine promised to contact the Kuwaiti government and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development in Kuwait.
He also asked of Habib to reconnect next week to follow up on the matter.
