Hankach from Britain: Election of President is Key for Lebanon's Salvation

Kataeb Lawmaker Elias Hankach considered the election of a president a key element for Lebanon's salvation.

"We seek to elect a president to regulate democratic life, achieve economic and administrative reforms, and regain the decision of war and peace," Hankach pointed out.

Hankach's words came while visiting the Lebanese diaspora in Britain, along with a Parlimentary delegation.

"We do not want militias to decide for us, hold us hostage, and decide to engage in war," he noted.

"We want a president who is capable of reviving Lebanon's relations with friendly countries in the Gulf and the world, and solve the issue of Syrian refugees," he added.

"Our goal is to have our youth achieve their dreams in Lebanon, rather than being forced to leave the country for that purpose," Hankach concluded.
