MP Marwan Hamadeh on Wednesday noted that Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun was being attacked and the veto was just to draw offers, saying that Frangieh is not a consensual candidate until now.
"We are in a world war whose location is regional, but it has begun to spread, and Lebanon is a victim. If we do not insist on electing a president and forming a new government, then we will be heading towards a new war," Hamadeh said in an interview with MTV.
"We do not want to experience the Lebanese army breaking up again. We cannot always submit to Hezbollah with this amount of illegal weapons and external positions," he added.
