Hakim Says Lebanon Is Not a Playground for Foreign-Backed Factions

Kataeb Party Political Bureau member and former minister Alain Hakim on Wednesday criticized the reception given to senior Iranian official Ali Larijani, warning that Lebanon’s sovereignty is undermined by the presence of parties loyal to foreign powers.

“Lebanon cannot be built as long as non-Lebanese parties loyal to foreign powers operate on its soil," Hakim wrote on X.

He added that “any non-Lebanese parties linked to foreign powers must be banned,” stressing that “Lebanon is not a playground for settling scores.”

Hakim’s comments came as Larijani, Secretary-General of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, visits Beirut for meetings with top Lebanese officials.
