Hakim Questions Hezbollah’s Ability to Act After Defeat and Heavy Losses

Former Minister Alain Hakim emphasized that Hezbollah’s military strength has been significantly weakened, saying the group came out defeated from its most recent conflict with Israel.

“If Hezbollah, at the height of its power, was unable to achieve any of its objectives and left behind more than $11 billion in damage and thousands of deaths, how could it hope to accomplish anything today given its current weakness?” Hakim told Erem News.

Hakim also stressed that Lebanon’s top priority should be “to strengthen internal stability, stay neutral in regional conflicts, and prevent Lebanese territory from being used as a platform for regional disputes that deepen the national crisis and harm the interests of all Lebanese citizens.”

He noted that reports linking Hezbollah to secret Iranian cells operating in Europe are “important indicators and analyses pointing to nearly certain facts,” but insisted that Lebanon must remain focused on domestic stability amid a highly sensitive regional environment.
