Grenade Thrown at Journalist Ramy Hamyeh's House in Baalbeck

A grenade was thrown Friday night by unknown people at Al-Akhbar journalist Ramy Hamyeh's house in Taraya in Baalbeck, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the Bekaa reported.

According to our correspondent's information, the grenade damaged Hamyeh's car and a number of other vehicles parked in the area.

Hamyeh put the matter in the hands of the security forces and the judiciary. A demolition expert and investigators from Shmustar village and the Internal Security Forces Information Branch came to the area to investigate the incident.

L'Orient Today could not immediately reach Hamyeh for a comment on this incident.

Last month, photojournalist Hassan Chaaban was threatened several times after covering protests in his hometown of Beit Yahoun in the southern Lebanon district of Nabatieh. He has accused Hezbollah of being behind these threats.
