Gold Prices Rise

Gold prices rose today, after weak economic data recently sharply lowered expectations for the Federal Reserve (the U.S. central bank) to raise interest rates in October, increasing the appeal of the non-yielding asset, according to "Reuters."

Spot gold increased by 0.4 percent to $4158.17 per ounce by 01:50 GMT. U.S. gold futures for December rose 0.6 percent to $4186.40.
