Gemayel Tells Government: Time for Action, Not Empty Rhetoric

Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel urged the Lebanese government to take decisive action following overnight rocket fire from Lebanon.

Posting on his X account ahead of a scheduled Cabinet meeting, Gemayel criticized what he called “empty rhetoric” and called on authorities to confront the realities facing the Lebanese people.

“Enough with empty rhetoric. The time for decisive action has come. Look at the destruction! Look at the streets filled with displaced families and children! Look at the suffering of our people, forced to leave their towns!” he wrote.

Gemayel also condemned the ongoing influence of armed groups in Lebanon, questioning the legitimacy of allowing foreign-backed factions to shape the country’s future.

“Is there any government in the world that would allow a gang of mercenaries to control the fate of a nation and destroy the future of an entire people in service of a collapsing foreign dictatorship?” he asked.
