Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel on Monday mourned the death of Pope Francis, describing him as a global symbol of peace, justice, and humanity, and highlighting his long-standing support for Lebanon.

“His Holiness Pope Francis, was a man of peace, justice, and humanity," he wrote on X. "We recall his unwavering support for Lebanon and his constant prayers for its people."

Gemayel extended condolences to the Holy See and paid tribute to the Pope’s moral leadership, expressing hope that the world would continue to be inspired by the late Pontiff’s legacy.

“We pray that God may grant Pope Francis His mercy and inspire the world with the values he embodied,” he concluded.
