Gemayel Meets New UN Coordinator for Lebanon

Kataeb Leader Samy Gemayel received on Wednesday the new UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, who came to Kataeb Headquarters in Saifi on an acquaintance visit.

Talks reportedly touched on the current situation in Lebanon and the broader region.

During the meeting, talks primarily centered around providing a detailed explanation of the Kataeb's stance on various issues, particularly the Syrian discplacement issue, the presidential elections, and the ongoing war in the south.

Emphasis was placed on the necessity of protecting Lebanon's sovereignty and implementing international resolutions related to preserving security and stability in Lebanon, especially UNSCR 1701 and 1559, and the role of the United Nations in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh, Vice President of the Kataeb Leader Bernard Gerbaka as well as Head of Kataeb Foreign Affairs Department Marwan Abdallah and Kataeb’s Head of Public Policy and Legislation Lara Saade.
