Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel voiced strong support on Thursday for the looming negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, describing them as a critical step toward restoring State authority and ending the ongoing conflict.

In a post on X, Gemayel said he fully supports the negotiation process now taking shape between the Lebanese State and Israel, along with the leadership of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam during what he described as a decisive and sensitive phase.

“We reaffirm our full and unequivocal support for the negotiation process now taking shape between the Lebanese State and Israel, as well as our steadfast backing for the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister in leading this critical phase,” Gemayel said.

He added that Lebanon is beginning to reclaim control over its future by restoring decision-making to its legitimate institutions.

“The objective is clear: to end the war, disarm Hezbollah, and secure an Israeli withdrawal as a first step toward consolidating sovereignty, building peace, and restoring the State,” he said.

Gemayel stressed that Lebanon must be governed solely by its own people, free from external influence or internal armed actors operating outside state authority.

“Lebanon must belong solely to its people, and its decisions must rest in the hands of its citizens alone,” he said.
