Geagea Meets Wronecka, Highlights Urgency of Maintaining Stability on Borders

Lebanese Forces Ledaer Samir Geagea, underscored that it is not acceptable to leave the Palestinians without a state to oversee and manage their affairs and interests.

He stressed the importance of finding a resolution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution outlined in the Beirut Declaration of 2002 to ensure stability in the Middle East.

During his meeting with the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka, before her departure to New York, Geagea mentioned that the developments in southern Lebanon do not benefit anyone, particularly Lebanon and its people.

He highlighted the urgency of maintaining stability on the borders by reinforcing the effects of UN Resolution 1701 and ensuring its proper implementation.

Geagea proposed that the Lebanese Army, with the support of international peacekeeping forces, should take on this responsibility.

He emphasized that this approach would safeguard the security, safety, and interests of the Lebanese people, protecting them from the escalating situation in the south.

Geagea reiterated the crucial role of the army in ensuring stability and stressed the need for all parties to refrain from compromising the cohesion of the military institution or involving it in uncertain ventures.

He urged avoiding any changes during this sensitive phase.
