55% of Lebanon's Total Population Living in Poverty

Chief of Economic Development and Poverty Section in the Escwa Khaled Abou Ismail on Friday announced that the poverty figures in Lebanon have reached 55% of the total population, affirming that the United Nations is exerting all its efforts so as to reduce the this percentage.

“The global conditions today are not promising but the international organizations are doing their best to help the Lebanese regions that are most in need, namely those located in the North and the South,” Abou Ismail told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
