Dutch and German Governments Urge Citizens to Leave Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions

The Dutch government on Wednesday advised its nationals to leave Lebanon due to the escalating conflict risk in the region, highlighting the very "unpredictable" nature of the situation.

In a post on its X account, the Foreign Ministry urged Dutch citizens to avoid traveling to Lebanon and encouraged those already in the country to leave while commercial flights are still operational.

The advisory also warned that the Dutch Embassy might not be able to assist its citizens in case of trouble.

In a parallel move, Germany issued a travel warning urging its nationals in Lebanon to leave the country promptly.

"Germans in Lebanon are urgently asked to leave the country. The situation at the border between Israel and Lebanon is very tense," the ministry posted on its X account.

It also warned that if the conflict escalates, air traffic from Beirut Rafic Hariri Airport could be completely suspended, making it impossible to leave the country by air.
