Given the ongoing developments on the southern borders, the Democratic Gathering Bloc called for the necessity of vigilance and awareness regarding Israeli intentions to destroy Lebanon.

Therefore, it emphasized the importance of avoiding getting drawn into a broader war and ensuring that the current clashes do not exceed the existing boundaries to prevent Lebanon from bearing the physical risks resulting from Israeli aggression.

The Bloc declared its preparedness for the possibility of Israeli aggression.

It, alongside the Progressive Socialist Party, is coordinating the ongoing preparations to accommodate refugees from Lebanese areas that might be subjected to aggression.

Additionally, its members are working in parallel to communicate with the relevant ministries and within the Parliament to ensure the readiness of the concerned institutions.

They are also developing necessary and executable emergency plans in case aggression occurs.

In the same context, the Bloc renewed its call to political forces to rise to the level of the dangerous phase, which requires exceptional responsibility in addressing all issues. This includes the election of a president, activating the work of the current government, preventing a vacuum in the army and security institutions, and stopping the series of vacancies affecting institutions one after another. This situation threatens the existence of the state as a whole, especially amidst the current serious challenges.

The Bloc also urged active Arab intervention to stop the aggression in Gaza, describing it as genocide.

It emphasized the need to open crossings to provide the Palestinian people with the essentials of life and resilience, end the occupation, halt settlement activities, and release prisoners from Israeli jails.
