The death toll from the recent pager explosions in Lebanon has now risen to 12, including two children, Lebanon's Health Ministry announced on Wednesday.

The dead included a girl and a boy as well as four health workers from private hospitals in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Caretaker Health Minister Firas Abiad told a news conference, pointing out that between 2,750 and 2,800 people were wounded. 

About 750 wounded people were in the south, about 150 were in the Bekaa Valley and some 1,850 were in the Beirut and its southern suburbs, he said.

Abiad assured that the healthcare system is fully engaged in treating the wounded, assuring that medical staff are providing comprehensive care.

Abiad reported that the majority of injuries are facial and that many hospitals have had to cancel scheduled surgeries to accommodate the influx of patients. He also noted that over 200 individuals are in intensive care, with several cases involving amputations.

Some injured may need to be evacuated to specialized facilities abroad for further treatment, Abiad noted.

The explosions, which have been attributed to a large-scale Israeli attack, have claimed the lives of several Hezbollah members. The militant group has confirmed the deaths of the following operatives:

- Najib Abdel-Hussein Alaeddine,  a.k.a "Ali Mazloom," born in 1991, from Majdel Selim
- Hassan Mohammed Yassin, a.k.a "Yamen," born in 1986, from Majdel Selim
- Hussein Ahmed Muntas, a.k.a "Salah," born in 1994, from Kfarsir
- Mohammed Zakaria Abbas,  a.k.a "Haydar," born in 1986, from Al-Jiyeh in Mount Lebanon
- Abbas Bilal Monem,  a.k.a "Mirza Mahdi," born in 1996, from Sahmar in Western Bekaa
- Mohammed Mahdi Ali Ammar, a.k.a "Zulfiqar," born in 1985, from Bourj el-Barajneh, son of Ali Ammar, a member of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc
- Hussein Ali Alaeddine,  a.k.a "Zakariya," born in 1989, from Majdel Selim in Southern Lebanon
- Hussein Ayoub Faqih, a.k.a "Baqir," born in 1988, from Bourj al-Shamali in Southern Lebanon
- Abbas Fadl Yassin, a.k.a "Abu Fadl," born in 1993, from Zoqaq el-Blat in Beirut
- Mahdi Abbas Samhat, a.k.a "Jawad Maatouk," born in 1995, from Al-Tayri in Southern Lebanon

Hezbollah's statement affirmed its unwavering support for Gaza, emphasizing that it will maintain its ongoing military cross-border operations separately from the reckoning that the Israeli military will face for its actions. The group warned that further retaliation is expected as a consequence of the attack.
