Dagher Meets Geagea, Emphasizes Full Voting Rights for Expatriates

Serge Dagher, adviser to the Kataeb Party president on political and electoral affairs, met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea in Maarab to discuss coordination between the two parties ahead of parliamentary elections.

“The Kataeb and Lebanese Forces share core political positions, including that all weapons must be under the sole control of the State, and that the State must be strong, capable, and respected,” Dagher said.

He stressed the importance of holding elections on time and defended the voting rights of Lebanese living abroad.

“Expatriates must be able to vote for all 128 parliamentary seats, not have their vote limited to just six representatives under unclear arrangements,” he said. "No one has the right to decide who can vote and who cannot. These are national decisions. Any attempt to restrict expatriates’ votes violates the law, the Constitution, and parliamentary procedures. We will fight this battle to the end and will not accept any postponement to the elections.”

Highlighting the ongoing coordination between the two parties, Dagher deemed the current phase as a "crucial moment in Lebanon’s history," outlining the need for full cooperation as the elections draw near.

Dagher utterly rejected the notion of electoral compromises, affirming that the Kataeb has never been a party of settlements.

“In the previous elections, our slogan was ‘no compromise in difficult times,’ and we will not compromise now. We will continue working with our allies until the very end to ensure that Lebanese citizens can fully exercise their right to determine their future,” he said.

The meeting was attended by Kataeb Political Bureau member Ghassan Abou Jaoudeh and Lebanese Forces Secretary-General Emile Moukarzel.
