Nicolas Cage Asks Court to Annul Four-Day Marriage

Actor Nicolas Cage last week asked a court to annul his four-day marriage to Erika Koike, claiming that he was too drunk to be aware of his actions.

In his annulment request, Cage said that he and Koike, a makeup artist, got married in Las Vegas after they had drunk "to the point of intoxication".

The couple had been dating for a year.

“Prior to obtaining a marriage license and participating in a marriage ceremony, [Cage] and [Koike] were both drinking to the point of intoxication. As a result of his intoxication, when [Koike] suggested to [Cage] that they should marry, [Cage] reacted on impulse and without the ability to recognize or understand the full impact of his actions,” The Blast website quoted Cage’s lawyer as saying.

The actor also claimed that he was unaware of his girlfriend’s relationship with another person and her criminal record given that she's still undergoing legal proceedings for driving under the influence of alcohol.

This is Cage’s fourth marriage. He previously tied the knot with former waitress Alike Kim, singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley and actress Patricia Arquette.
