According to "Al-Diyar" newspaper, rapid tests conducted locally on bottled mineral water from major water companies in Lebanon revealed that they do not meet the safety and public health requirements.
The newspaper reported that tests were carried out on water from dozens of wells in Akkar and the North, and the results were astonishingly high in terms of contamination levels.
The newspaper quoted specialized experts who stated that most of the wells, especially in the North and particularly in Akkar, are contaminated and pose a threat to public health.
