Beirut Port: 25kg Cocaine Haul Found in Banana Shipment

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced the seizure of over 25 kg of cocaine hidden within a shipment of bananas from Ecuador at the Port of Beirut.

The ISF received information about an international smuggling network transporting the cocaine. Upon inspection, authorities found 25.6 kg of cocaine concealed within the metal structure of the container. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those involved in the smuggling operation.

This incident follows recent seizures of drugs concealed in food shipments, including hashish hidden in coffee bags and bags of traditional Lebanese spices.
