Asmar: No Demand for Salary Increase, We Will Focus on Political and Economic Solutions to Curb Dollar Exchange Rate Increase

General Federation of Lebanese Workers Head Bechara Asmar, stated that “the salaries paid to employees following successive increases are not sufficient, while the exchange rate of the dollar continues to rise.”

"The solution can only be political, producing a government capable of acting and starting to set a ceiling for the exchange rate of the dollar. We will not demand a salary increase, but rather political and economic solutions that will put an end to the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar," Asmar noted.

"Public sector teachers are also suffering and are being given additional tasks, given the presence of displaced people, which means giving classes before and after noon at two different times," he concluded.
