The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces in Lebanon has announced the successful arrest of a dangerous drug trafficking gang operating in the Choueifat desert.

After a month-long surveillance operation, the Counterterrorism and Major Crimes Bureau conducted a professional operation resulting in the apprehension of several individuals involved in drug trafficking and distribution.

The operation also involved an exchange of gunfire, leading to the injury and subsequent death of one suspect.

Significant amounts of various drugs, along with a large sum of money, mobile phones, firearms, motorcycles, and a drug distribution vehicle, were seized during the operation.

The investigation is ongoing under judicial supervision.

The operation has been well-received by the local community, as the gang had been causing fear among residents and targeting school students with their drug activities.
