Southern Lebanon in Ruins: The Aftermath of Israeli Withdrawal
The scale of the destruction in southern Lebanon became starkly visible following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the border villages on Tuesday. As residents and the Lebanese army moved back into the area, they were confronted with a scene of widespread ruin. The once vibrant villages now lay in ruins, with only a few homes having withstood the onslaught. Public squares and commercial shops were similarly ravaged, further deepening the sense of loss among the local population.

Aoun: Lebanon Will Not Serve as Platform for Attacks on Arab States
President Joseph Aoun reaffirmed on Monday that Lebanon will not serve as a platform for attacks against any country, particularly the brotherly Arab nations, as he met with a delegation of Arab ambassadors based in Beirut.
“We hope for the support of Arab nations so that Lebanon may once again be the Arabs’ gateway to the Arab world, as the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, used to say,” Aoun told the envoys.
The Lebanese president warned that the consequences of ongoing regional conflicts extend beyond the Palestinian people, affecting all Arab states, including Lebanon. He stressed the need for a unified Arab stance to confront the mounting challenges facing the region.
