The Lebanese Kataeb Party took part in the regular meetings of the European People's Party (EPP) held in Brussels, Belgium. Representing the Kataeb Party, which is a partner of the EPP, was Marwan Abdallah, the Head of the Party's Foreign Affairs Department.
The discussions during the meetings centered on the European Union's policies in the Middle East and its neighboring areas.
In his address, Abdallah provided an overview of the latest political developments in Lebanon, particularly the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic and the appointment of Judge Nawaf Salam as Prime Minister-designate.
Abdallah highlighted that these milestones mark a pivotal turning point for Lebanon, which has begun taking steps to rebuild its ties with the international community and its allies. He underscored that as Lebanon embarks on a new chapter, it urgently needs the collective support of countries that have stood by it during its crises to help it recover politically, economically, and in various sectors.
As part of his engagement, Abdallah invited the representatives of participating countries to visit Lebanon and witness the initiatives that are set to launch in the coming period. The attendees responded positively, committing to form a delegation from the European Parliament to visit Lebanon at the earliest opportunity.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Abdallah held talks with delegations from Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and France. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for cooperation.
