On March 2, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel – though the decision for it to do so was almost certainly made by Iran – carrying Lebanon into a new war with Israeli forces. On the same day, Lebanon's government declared Hezbollah's military and security activities illegal. Shortly thereafter, army commander General Rodolphe Haykal made it clear to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam that the military did not have the means to implement the government's decision. Now, the Lebanese army finds itself in an uncomfortable position.

Lebanese singer George Al-Rassi died on Saturday morning in a horrific car accident on the Masnaa highway, as his car crashed into the highway’s concrete barrier.
The young woman (Z.M.) born in Tripoli on 23/1/1984, who was accompanying Al-Rassi also passed away.
Al-Nahar news reported that the accident had occurred at exactly five and 16 minutes before daybreak, at the Syrian - Lebanese border. Due to the terrible car crash, the Red Cross and Civil Defense personnel had to employ sharp tools and three machinery in an effort to extract their bodies from the vehicle. The procedure lasted for roughly 40 minutes.
