Paraguay Designates Hezbollah and Hamas as Terrorist Groups, Brazil May Follow

Paraguay announced on Monday its decision to designate Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organizations joining a list of countries including the United States, Argentina, Canada, Israel, the United Kingdom, and others.

The move comes a month after the first country in Latin America, Argentina, had taken the same measure freezing the group’s assets.

Brazil is also considering labeling Hezbollah as a terrorist group, something that the US is urging its allies in Latin American to do in order to significantly affect Hezbollah’s financing from foreign sources.
