Man Attacked with Hammer Outside London Mosque

A 27-year-old man was injured after being attacked with a hammer outside a mosque in London, hours after a deadly attack had targeted two mosques in New Zealand.

According to the Independent newspaper, a group of three men shouted Islamophobic slurs and described worshippers as "terrorists" as they drove past the mosque.

"The suspects returned to their car and left the scene before police arrived," a spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police told the news outlet.

The injured man was admitted to hospital where he showed an offensive attitude towards the staff.

"He was abusive towards hospital staff, and left the hospital without being treated,” police said.

“Investigations are ongoing and officers have not identified any motive for the attack."
