White House: U.S. Pushing to Extend Israel-Hezbollah Ceasefire Agreement

The White House has announced efforts to extend the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which is set to expire in the coming weeks.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby emphasized the importance of prolonging the truce, highlighting ongoing diplomatic efforts to ensure its continuation.

"We have every interest in seeing the cease-fire continue beyond the 60 days," Kirby said. "We are working hard in diplomatic channels, and now we're able to work with a new president of Lebanon to see if we can, you know, if we can see that happen."

"We are absolutely working to see if this ceasefire can continue,” he stated, underscoring the U.S. determination to sustain the agreement.
