White House Dispatches Envoy to De-escalate Tensions on Lebanon-Israel Border

The White House announced that President Joe Biden's special envoy, Amos Hochstein, will be traveling to Israel in the coming days as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider escalation of violence along the Israel-Lebanon border.

“We are trying to prevent the opening of a second front in northern Israel,” said John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council.

Speaking to Al Arabiya’s Nadia Bilbassy-Charters during a call with reporters, Kirby emphasized that Hochstein’s visit is part of the administration’s broader efforts to prevent an escalation and stop the conflict from expanding further.
