U.S. Envoy Urges Israel to Avoid Full-Scale War with Hezbollah

Amos Hochstein, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, has arrived in Israel with a message from Washington urging the country to refrain from launching a large-scale military operation in Lebanon,  Israel's Channel 12 reported.

Both the U.S. and Israel recognize that an all-out conflict with Hezbollah could escalate into a broader, multi-front war, with potential ramifications for the region. The concern stems from Hezbollah's significant military capabilities and its alliance with Iran, raising fears that hostilities in Lebanon could spark further clashes beyond Israel's northern border.

Hochstein's mission is expected to focus on efforts to de-escalate tensions and push for a settlement in the northern region. However, according to the report, achieving a resolution in Lebanon may depend on progress in reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, where Israel has also been engaged in ongoing military operations.
