The U.S. Embassy in Beirut posted on "X" platform: "We continue to be concerned by the possibility of a further spillover of this conflict. In particular, the United States does not want to see conflict in Lebanon, where escalation would have grave implications for regional peace and security, and for the well-being of the Lebanese people. Restoring calm along the Israel-Lebanon border is of utmost importance."

"The implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701 is a key component of this effort," it added.

"UNIFIL plays a vital role along the Blue Line, and we expect all parties will ensure the safety of peacekeepers," it concluded.
