UNRWA Calls on "Armed Groups" to Evacuate Its facilities in Ain el-Helweh Camp

Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Dorothée Klaus, announced that the organization has received alarming reports indicating that armed groups are still occupying its facilities, including a school complex in Ain el Helweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.

It was reported that UNRWA's facilities have suffered damages due to the recent clashes in the camp.

Klaus noted that the complex comprises four schools that fall under the administration of UNRWA. This situation is viewed as a clear violation of the inviolability of United Nations premises according to international law.

Such actions undermine the impartiality of UNRWA's facilities and pose a threat to the safety and security of both its staff and Palestinian refugees.

Meanwhile, UNRWA urged all relevant parties to immediately vacate its buildings so that the agency can resume vital services and provide assistance to all needy Palestinian refugees.
