UNIFIL spokesman told Sky News Arabia that Israel's targeting of its forces in southern Lebanon is "a dangerous escalation."

He added that "Israel is violating UNSC Resolution 1701 by targeting our forces," noting that Israeli attacks on UNIFIL forces are ongoing.

The UNIFIL spokesman further stated in his remarks that "Israeli forces have asked us to withdraw from the Blue Line."

He emphasized that "Israel must ensure the safety of our forces in southern Lebanon," and also underscored the necessity for the Lebanese army to be deployed in the south.
