U.S. President Donald Trump pledged Thursday that his administration will take action in Lebanon, saying the country faces challenges from Hezbollah, which he described as “remnants” of its former strength.
Speaking at the launch of the Board of Peace on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump acknowledged the group’s ongoing presence in Lebanon but emphasized that its influence has diminished.
“These are remnants. I call them remnants,” he said. "They're small remnants compared to what it was before."
Trump underscored the need for U.S. involvement, asserting, “Hezbollah in Lebanon, we have to do something about that.”
