Thomas Müller’s Home Broken Into While the German International Played for Bayern Munich Against Barcelona

Thomas Müller had a bittersweet 33rd birthday.

The German forward was a part of the Bayern Munich side that beat Barcelona 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League but also returned home to find that his house was broken into.

As reported by the Daily Mail, cash, jewellery, and other valuables were stolen from Müller’s home while he was still playing at the Allianz Arena. Investigations are ongoing at that moment, and no suspects have been traced. The Oberbayern Sud police confirmed the news, adding that the value of items stolen were in the mid-six-figure range.

Müller is the latest in a string of footballers to be targeted by criminals. Recently, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his family were robbed in his home in Spain while he was still a Barcelona player. The Chelsea star was also assaulted and even suffered injuries to his jaw due to the home invasion.

Marca also noted that thieves also tried to break into the home of Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal at the beginning of September. Carvajal said that he believed footballers were easy targets for criminals because the suspects always knew when they would be away playing matches.

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is looking forward to reuniting with former teammate Robert Lewandowski when the Poland striker returns to the Allianz Arena with Barcelona.

Bayern Munich will host the La Liga giants on Tuesday, September 13, on matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League, and Lewandowski will be facing his former team in the encounter.

According to Sportskeeda, Muller has now revealed that Sadio Mane, who joined the Bavarians from Liverpool this summer, has jokingly advised him not to pass to Lewandowski during the game.
