"They are not linked to other cells".. Jordan reveals motives and identities of the perpetrators of the Karak attack

Jordan's Interior Minister Mazen Al-Farraya stated on Monday that there are no indications linking the suspects in the Karak church attack, which resulted in the death of 9 people, to other cells.

Al-Farraya mentioned during a press conference regarding the case that "there are no indications of any links to other cells".

He added: "However, the file is larger than just an operation that ends with the arrest of the suspects; it is a file of extremism that requires a community stand."

He pointed out that "the state will review all its policies for dealing with this ideology".

For his part, the Director of Public Security, Major General Obaidallah Al-Maaitah, revealed the identities of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on the Hamoud church in Karak.

Al-Maaitah indicated that the attackers are Hazaa Zidan Muhammad, who is the planner of the attack, his brother Mishaal Zidan Muhammad, who is among the extremists and takfiris, and their relative Ahmad Sami Hussein.

He noted that investigations are still ongoing in the incident to complete the investigative file with all its details and legal dimensions, in preparation for referring the case to the judiciary.

On Monday morning, Jordanian security authorities announced the arrest of the attackers on the church in Karak, numbering 3 individuals.

The suspects were holed up in an abandoned house in the neighboring town of Al-Jadidah to the town of Hamoud where the attack occurred, in Karak Governorate in southern Jordan.

The attack, which targeted the church during a funeral last Friday, resulted in the deaths of 9 Jordanians and injured 25 others.
