Syrian, Israeli Officials to Resume Security Talks in Paris

Senior Syrian and Israeli officials are set to meet in Paris on Monday to resume negotiations on a new security agreement, Israeli officials and sources familiar with the matter told Axios.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, is leading the mediation for this latest round of talks, which are expected to last two days. Syrian Foreign Minister Assaad al-Shaibani is scheduled to meet with a new team of Israeli negotiators during the discussions.

This marks the fifth round of negotiations between the two sides, but the first in nearly two months, following the previous round, which reportedly stalled over disagreements including the sensitive issue of the Golan Heights.
