Syrian authorities have intercepted a weapons shipment bound for Hezbollah in Lebanon, SANA news agency revealed on Sunday.
The shipment was en route through smuggling routes along the Lebanon-Syria border, specifically near the border city of Sarghaya.
The seized shipment included several assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, and ammunition, as shown in images released by the agency.
Earlier this month, the General Security Directorate in Tartus, Syria, announced the successful disruption of another arms and missile smuggling attempt heading towards Lebanon. The operation, carried out in close coordination with the local intelligence agency, uncovered a smuggling network attempting to move weapons across illegal crossings between the two countries.
