Israeli Strikes Target Syria from Lebanon Airspace

 Israeli missiles flying over Lebanon targeted areas in the outskirts of the Syrian cities of Damascus and Homs late Thursday, drawing Syrian air defense fire, Syrian media reported.

Explosions rocked the Syrian capital, witnesses said, while many residents in neighboring Lebanon heard missiles over fly several areas. Witnesses reported at least two strikes in Homs countryside northwest of Damascus.

There was no immediate reports on targets or casualties.

A Syrian military statement said "the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression this evening with bursts of missiles from southeast Beirut".

The statement added "targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus and the vicinity of the city of Homs".

The Israeli military had no immediate comment on the reported strike in Syria.
